Upon receipt from customer of 30-50 micrograms of Qiagen-purified DNA for each P-element construct Genetic Services Inc. will perform the following:  

  1. Purify the DNA prior to injections using our in house technique.
  2. Provide the helper plasmid for injections
  3. Collect the injected larvae and rear them to adulthood
  4. Cross the G0 injected adults to w1118 (or appropriately marked) flies and then collect transformant flies to generate independent lines.
  5. Maintain copies of the transformant lines until they are growing well in the customer's lab.

Customer to indicate if markers are of any kind other than w[+] P-elements.

There are no extra charges for lethal DNA.  In fact, we have never had a lethal construct using our purification process.
